Deconstruction: Fire and Ic

This series deconstruct the poem Fire and Ice by Robert Frost. Fire and ice were used in the poem as metaphors for the extremes in human ideals and how they can cause our undoing. Matahari and GE Candidates On Mars Beaming Up To Saturn represents the two extremes in human ideologies: a hedonistic utopia and an Orwellian one, with Loan And Return seeks to address the issue of balance.

Some say the world will end in fire,

Some say in ice.

From what I’ve tasted of desire

I hold with those who favor fire.

But if it had to perish twice,

I think I know enough of hate

To say that for destruction ice

Is also great

And would suffice.
