Five Fa(r)es
of Arab street
A ethnographic study using street typography and found images around Kampong Glam to form five collages that embodied the sociopolitical issues and the evolution of the space around Arab street and the Kampong Glam area.

The artificiality of Kampong Glam to maintain its Arab and Malay charm is seen as forced with its plethora of Turkish restaurants. The proliferation of bars is also at odds with the space that is supposed to represent the Arab and Malay community (majority of them Muslims).

Pasted posters layered on top of each other, blocking out parts deemed unappealing. This cycle repeats.
